Sciath na Scol 2009

On the 27 th of April the girls and boys from 5 th and 6 th classes took part in a Sciath na Scol blitz. It took place in St.Marys GAA pitch near Rossmore. The boys played Rosscarbery, Kilmeen and the Gaelscoil. The girls played Rosscarbery, Canovee and Kilmeen. This year all of the matches were played on the same day. We left school at 9.15 and we didn’t return until 3.00!!! There were two pitches for us to use and lots of parents came to support. The matches were 14 minutes a side and only two teams could go through to the final. Although we didn’t get through we still had a great day! On Wednesday the 29 th we are going to start hurling training and we hope to win some of those matches!!! We will have a hurling blitz near the end of the year. Ms. O’Regan, Gavin O’Riordan and Mrs. Hannon are our trainers!!!
