On Thursday 27 th of November 2008 at 2:45pm, tens of thousands of young people across the country sang ‘You gotta be’ by Desree . Our school took part and we liked the song (even though it was hard enough to learn!!!!) We were trying to break the Guinness world record of 293,978 children singing all at once. 3,504 schools in total registered. It was sponsored by the Irish Times and it was fun. Every child who participated had to bring one euro in order to raise money for Special Olympics Ireland and child line. We practiced a lot and were exhausted afterwards. It was worth it because we got a Guinness world record cert. Ireland joined the big sing for the first time this year!!
