This week we chose the book Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Cabin Fever. We liked this book because it is fun to read. We also liked it because there are other Diary of a Wimpy Kid books we can read. We really like the illustrations because they have funny speech bubbles. It is easy to read but there are also lots of challenging words. Both boys and girls enjoyed reading the book.

Greg Heffley is in trouble. He is the prime suspect for damaging school property. Luckily he is stuck inside for the Christmas holidays because there is a blizzard while his dad is having the time of his life. Rodrick his older brother has joined the church singing band but maybe he has taken it a little too far because he brings his drums to the church. Manny, his younger brother, takes the T.V. and is smart enough to only have the channels he likes on the T.V. Greg knows when the snow melts he will have to face the music.

We chose this book because boys and girls enjoyed reading it. We also thought it is not too easy and not too hard. Horrid Henry is very funny .

He is very mean to his brother Perfect Peter and he is always in trouble with his mom and dad.

In this book Henry gets an unusual present from his great aunt Greta. Henry is NOT impressed with his presents from aunt Greta and gets rid of them quickly!

This week in second class we recommend the book Matilda by Roald Dahl.

Matilda is a young girl who loves reading books. She is a very sensible little girl. Her parents are very cruel to her and hate her reading books. She has a teacher called Ms. Honey and she is very kind. The principal is Ms. Trunchbull and she is very, very mean.

We like this book because both boys and girls enjoyed reading it. We really like the character Matilda because she is very clever, smart and funny! Matilda has magic powers and plays very funny tricks on her parents and principal. It is a very entertaining book.

Farm Safety

Today we discussed the importance of Farm Safety. The children discussed rules to follow when keeping safe on a farm. With their partners they wrote about and illustrated their rule on the iPads. We then presented these to the class.
