Nano Nagle
Nano Nagle was born near Mallow, Co Cork in 1718. In First Class we read about her life story; her hedge school days in the country, her education in Paris and becoming a nun. She returned to Ireland and set up schools in Cork city. She helped the poor and she founded the Presentation Sisters. She was known as the Lady with the lantern. The children all helped out in making a great window display in honour of Nano Nagle.
