Projects in Rang a 2
Second class have been working in pairs this week to complete projects based on the counties of Ireland. We researched facts using the chromebooks and then worked together on our poster. We finished by presenting each project to the class and even gave them a quiz!
Book Club📚
Rang a 2 are really enjoying Book Club as part of our English reading. The children are each reading their own chosen novel and love sharing their book with their classmates. It’s such a treat to explore such a wide variety of books from various authors!
Seachtain na Gaeilge
We had a great week celebrating Seachtain na Gaeilge. We enjoyed lots of fun activities such as a visit from the Newcestown Comhaltas, artwork, games as Gaeilge, our ceolchoirm and finished off with a céilí with rang a 1!
World Book Day 📚
We had a great day celebrating World Book Day. We talked about our favourite books, created art pieces inspired by some recent reads and enjoyed paired reading with the boys and girls in Rang a 6.
A Visit From The BFG!
A huge thank you to the Parents Association for sponsoring a visit from the Tallest Smallest Theatre for World Book Day. We had a fantastic time meeting the BFG who even made a magic potion with us!
We Are Fit4Class!
Over the last ten weeks Rang a 2 have been keeping fit by taking part in the Fit4Class challenge in partnership with Athletics Ireland and Sport Ireland. Each week we completed a series of activities designed to improve our agility, balance and co-ordination.
First Penance
Well done to all the boys and girls in Rang a 2 who received the sacrament of First Penance last night.
Ash Wednesday & Lent
Fr.Bertie kindly handed out ashes to the boys and girls today. We read a story about Lent, said our special prayer and then made our own Lenten promises.
Lá Fhéile Bríde
Rang a 2 had a lovely time celebrating St.Brigids Day. We watched a webinar hosted by author Caroline Busher who told us all about St.Brigid. Then we made crosses out of paper and sang our St.Brigids Day song!
