Sound energy for science week!
Rang a 3 worked in pairs to create pan flutes today! Pupils used their measurement skills to ensure each straw was a different length and ordered each straw from shortest to longest. We learned that sound travels in waves and that a pan flute’s sound is created when the pipes vibrate. We learned that the longer straws are lower in pitch and the shorter straws are higher in pitch!
Enjoy the musical talents of rang a 3 with their new musical instruments 🎶
Science Week Quiz
Rang a sé really enjoyed the quiz they did for science week! They learnt some new interesting facts and science jokes too!!
Gymnastics🤸♀️
Junior Infants are having great fun at gymnastics with Kenny. We are learning all about stretching, balancing and rolling!
Gymnastics in Rang 6
Rang a sé have been enjoying gymnastics since they returned to school after mid-term. They have been learning lots of different rolls and building the basics to become fantastic future gymnasts. Big thanks to Kenny for giving us great tips
Science Stations.
Each pod in 5th worked on a different science experiment. We learnt a lot of interesting things. Some of our experiments will have better results after some time.
We were delighted to see how our crystals formed. Our walking water experiment also continued to work over time!!
How fire uses O2 Experiment
Today in 5th class we saw how fire uses the oxygen in a space. The result was very cool!!!
Magnificent Materials
Junior Infants have been learning all about materials for science week. We went on a scavenger hunt in our classroom and outside to find things made of wood, plastic and metal.
Science Week Fun in Senior Infants
We made a rainbow from skittles and were amazed when the water didn’t leak out of the bag!
Fascinating fingerprints in Rang a 3
As part of science week, rang a 3 were fingerprint detectives today! Pupils collected fingerprints and examined the patterns to decide if their fingerprints have “whorls”, “loops” or “arches”.
