La Glas
Children wore green clothes last Friday, the day before
St Patrick’s Day. Each child contributed €2 towards
Ms Murphy’s trip to Uganda in July with the
‘Lámha Suas’ charity. We raised over €400.
Well done everybody!
The G Factor
Well done to everybody who participated in our talent competition ‘The G Factor” this week. It was a wonderful success and it showed the boundless talent of the children in Scoil Bhríde
Seachtain na Gaeilge 2012
Bhaineamar an-taitneamh as Seachtain na Gaeilge. Bhí céilí againn ar an Luan agus ar an gCéadaoin. Bhí Tráth na gCeist againn sa halla ar an Mháirt. Bhíomar ag éisteacht le seisiún ceoil traidisiúnta lá eile. Beidh ‘lá glas’ againn amárach i gcomhair Lá Naomh Pádraig.
Ash Wednesday
Today is Ash Wednesday. The children of all classes received the ashes today. It marks the beginning of Lent.
“Remember, You are dust, and unto dust you shall return.
Turn away from sin and be faithful to the gospel.
Repent and hear the Good News”
Some of the children of Fifth class are giving up:
watching TV, white bread, sweets, crisps, fizzy drinks and biscuits.
Some have chosen to do their homework quicker, fight less with younger brothers and sisters, help out more at home and to get more fresh air. All sounds good, only 40 days to go!!
