For the first two weeks of February our theme in the role play area is “Pirates”. Children have brought in lots of resources from home including toys and stories to help with our role play area. We enjoyed dressing up, drawing maps and finding treasure.

Our themes for Aistear in our role play area for November were the Doctor’s Surgery and the Pet Shop. All of the boys and girls loved taking on the different roles associated with each theme. There are photos from the other Aistear stations included also. Well done to all the boys and girls in Junior Infants, you are doing great work!

We dressed up in our costumes for Halloween and had a great time!
Halloween in the Junior Infants classroom
We have been learning all about Halloween in school. We have decorated our classroom and made it look very spooky and scary. During art we made bats and witches. We also printed ghosts using pears. We carved a pumpkin and gave him a scary face. We are looking forward to Halloween!

Literacy and Numeracy Stations in Junior Infants
Every morning between 10.00 am and 10.50 am Junior Infants take part in Station Learning. They rotate between different activities including practicing their writing on the whiteboard, threading, cutting, tracing letters in sand, making letters out of play dough, sorting activities and completing pages from their writing and Maths workbooks. Here are photographs of some of the activities Junior Infants were doing during stations in September and October.
